TITLE: Special Needs Bus Monitor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 or older
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent level of education.
- Lift and carry or drag seventy-five (75) pounds across forty (40) feet of level ground.
REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation, Designated Driver Examiner / Training Supervisor, Routing Supervisor, Accident Investigator / Activity Trips Supervisor
JOB GOAL: Enable each student through safe and efficient transportation to take full advantage of the complete range of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the district’s schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obey all Federal, State and District policies.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses and complete proper paperwork.
- Report all accidents and/or injuries and complete required reports.
- Observe and obey all policies and procedures as set forth in the Putnam City Schools Transportation Department Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Maintain discipline when students are on the bus. Report students with bus discipline problems to the proper authority and complete proper paperwork.
- Assist in loading, unloading and properly securing wheelchair(s) and equipment.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Possess a working knowledge of any additional equipment necessary to properly perform all duties.
- Attend monthly safety meetings as designated by Director.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Nine-month basis. Salary established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy.
