TITLE:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Current state license to practice as a LPN in the state of Oklahoma

·         Licensure is in good standing

·         Prefer a minimum of 3 years nursing experience in pediatrics and/or students with disabilities

·         Current Certification in CPR and First Aid

·         Prefer computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology

REPORTS TO:

Principal, Health Services Coordinator, and Supervising Nurse (RN)

SUPERVISES:

NA

JOB GOAL:

To assist health services staff in providing necessary medical care to students as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services and/or the Health Services Coordinator.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Administers medication with appropriate documentation according to District Policy.

·         Provides direct professional nursing services under the supervision of the Health Services Coordinator and the assigned school nurse supervisor.

·         Implements, manages, and delivers school health services to maximize health and wellness in the school community.

·         Services will be provided in compliance with professional standards, District Policy, and state/local mandates.

·         Participates in proposed and ongoing curriculum development projects.

·         Serves district schools and/or a student as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services and Health Services Coordinator.  Location and student may change based on district need.

·         Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Nine-month basis.  Salary to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy.
