QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in secretarial or business/office skills preferred
- 3+ years office/clerical experience, in an educational setting preferred
- Working knowledge of office procedures and the operation of office equipment.
- Proficiency in operating software (Word, Access, Excel)
- Proficiency in all aspects of office etiquette; organizational, communication skills, and interpersonal skills; telephone etiquette; listening skills; and business communications including spelling, composition and proofreading
- Knowledge of current district office practices, procedures, and organization
- Knowledge of accounts receivable/accounts payable
- Knowledge of federal programs and school finance procedures preferred
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the curriculum office, including federal programs in order to maximize the positive impact on the educational practices of curriculum specialists.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compiles and organizes data and information from a variety of sources (e.g. work orders, budget reports, specialized reports, student records, etc.) for the purpose of complying with federal, state and local requirements
- Maintains budgets, applications, and reports for Federal Programs, as required under the supervision and direction of the Federal Programs Coordinator
- Provides general secretarial support to curriculum office personnel; takes initiative and is a self-starter able to effectively support all office personnel with minimal supervision
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and efficient office
- Welcomes and assists visitors as needed
- Inventories, orders, and issues instructional supplies and equipment
- Maintains office machinery and supplies (physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 35 lbs., some stopping, and/or kneeling)
- Distributes mail to appropriate curriculum specialists
- Places, receives, and routes incoming phone messages
- Obtains and organizes pertinent data as needed, and puts it into usable form
- Processes purchase orders, requests for reimbursements, processes tutoring forms and/or extra-duty pay forms, other requests and claims, time & effort documents, and monthly time sheets, etc.
- Prepares correspondence, reports, notices and recommendations as required
- Organizes and maintains a regular filing system, including electronic files, for confidential and non-confidential documents
- Schedules a variety of activities (appointments, meetings, travel/accommodations, facility use forms, etc.
- Responds to a variety of program-specific and district-general inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve months (236 days). Salary to be established by the Board.

Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
