Description: The Putnam City AmeriCorps grant provides a six-week summer program for students entering grades 1st-5th at Hilldale, Tulakes and Western Oaks. During the months of June and July a total of 450 students (150 per site) will participate in morning academic enrichment while in the afternoon they will experience fun, hands-on activities. This program requires staff who are full of energy, innovative and love working with kids to help them grow academically, mentally and physically.
Qualifications:
- Certified elementary or secondary teacher with 2 or more years of teaching experience
- Able to commit to working May 23, 2022 and Monday-Thursday, May 31– July 22, 2022
- Basic Google Drive skills
- Capable of working with elementary students and college-age adults

- Social Security Card
- Criminal History Background Check & Sex Offender Check (paid by the program)
Performance Responsibilities:
- Oversee 150 students attending the summer program. This includes dealing with any student issues such as discipline and drop-off-pick-up concerns.
- Communicates with parent(s) when a student is delinquent and/or is having attendance challenges.
- Provide classroom teaching support as needed in the classroom.
- Support the Site Manager in daily operations.
Terms of Participation:
May 23, 2021 – July 22, 2022
The program begins with AmeriCorps member training June 1-4 from 8:00-4:00. Once the program starts for the students on June 7, the Site Supervisor will work Monday-Thursday from 8AM-4:00PM with a mandatory 30-minute lunch.
Training:
Four-hour training will be required prior to the program starting. The day and time is TBD.
Salary Range:
The Site Supervisor will be paid an hourly rate of $30 per hour plus benefits. |
