AmeriCorps Summer Enrichment Teacher



The AmeriCorps Summer Enrichment Leader will serve in a high-energy summer program for students entering into grades 2nd-4th.  The summer program is offered free to students and is intended to provide additional reading remediation as well as to help reduce summer learning loss.  Accepted applicants will be enrolled as an AmeriCorps member and will be required to serve a minimum of 300 hours throughout the duration of the program in one of the following elementary schools: Hilldale, Western Oaks or Tulakes.

Commit to serving 300 or more service hours by participating

Monday through Thursday from 8am - 4pm and Fridays 8am - noon



Over 30 hours of training will be required before the program starts.  Training will include topics such as classroom management, lesson planning, how to implement Fast ForWord, conversational intelligence and professionalism in the workplace.


Salary Range:

The AmeriCorps member will receive a $1,600 living allowance in June and July (not to exceed $3,200) and a $1,230 educational award upon completion of the program and serving 300 or more hours.
